PRAYER QUILT TO BE TIED TODAY

Pat Owens (friend and former co-worker of Edith Pollack).  Last week Pat lost a sister, and has experienced numerous other setbacks, including the loss of another sister last year.  She is depressed and overwhelmed by these many situations; she is the youngest of many siblings,and has experienced the loss of all but one sister and one brother who are the only siblings left.  Pat would like prayer for comfort in her losses, and financial provisions and companionship, as she is also a widow.

Flower Calendar – The 2018 flower calendar is now in the Narthex.   Please sign up to provide flowers on a Sunday in special memory of a special person or event. 


Flowers in the Sanctuary today are provided by Roger & Elsa Ang in honor of Fely Narvaez’s and Roger Ang’s birthdays.

2018 Holy Land Trip – We will meet after church on Sunday, February 25th.  We are planning the trip for October 9th-17th.  The cost of the trip is $1510 per person, and airfare is estimated to be about $1100 per person round trip.  If you book 6 months in advance (by April 1st), there is a discount.  The deposit to hold your booking is $300 per person.  Contact Peggy Davis if you have questions.


Adult Bible Study – Adult Bible Study resumes today at 10:45 in the Conference Room. 


February Diaper Drive - Our congregation is having a diaper drive during the month of February. Diapers size 0 - 5, Pull-ups of all sizes, and wipes will be collected and delivered to SD MOM at the end of February.  You may also bring in gently used baby clothes, and items that may be helpful to parents of babies and toddlers which will also be delivered.  In addition, SD MOM accepts donations of linens, housewares, dishes, pots and pans, small appliances, and more.  Questions check with Suzy Bridges. 


Preschool Valentine Basket Fundraiser – Valentine Basket tickets are on sale in the Breezeway.  The price of the tickets is $1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00.  Tickets are available in the preschool office Monday-Friday up until the morning of the drawing on Tuesday, February 13th, at 8:45 am.  The themes for this year’s baskets are:  In the Garden; Chocolate & Coffee; Gift Cards; Summer Fun; Disney; and San Diego Sports & Outdoor Fun.  Monies received will be used to help pay expenses for the Teachers Conference and for curriculum.


Ash Wednesday Service – Please join us at our Ash Wednesday service this Wednesday night, February 14th, at 7:00 pm here at MMPC. 


Lenten Bible Study - Pastor Parrish will lead a Lenten Study class entitled, Vanishing Grace:  What Ever Happened to the Good News? by Philip Yancey. This will be a 5-week session using a DVD supplement and individual study guides. Classes will be Wednesday evenings, February 21st thru March 21st, from 6:30-8:00 pm at the church. There is a suggested donation of $6.00 for the study guide. Sign up in the Breezeway. For more information, please contact Gary Huber


Dinners for 6 – We will have one more round of Dinners for 6.  Please join others as we get better acquainted with our MMPC family.  You do not need to be a member to join in.  Singles and couples are welcome.  Sign-up sheets will be in the breezeway on February 11th and 18th.  Questions?  Contact Peggy Davis. 


Volunteer to be a Sunday School Teacher – Sunday School teachers are needed for the elementary class, grades K thru 5. Teachers rotate on a monthly basis in order to prevent burn-out.  Openings begin March 4, 2018.  If you are interested in teaching these growing and developing children, contact Christian Education Director, Ed Pollack6.

ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES

1.      Women’s Bible Study – The Seekers, a daytime Women’s Bible study, meets on Thursday mornings at 11:00.  They are studying the Book of Ezekiel.  For more information, contact Bea O’Connor or Lenore Froman.

2.    Adult Bible Study – The study on the Book of Mark resumes today after worship. The class is led by Stan Joosse.  They are using Rev. John MacArthur’s study guide, “The Humanity of Christ,” and other relevant material. 


JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY

Junior & Senior High Sunday School – Available for 6th thru 12th grades; meets in the Youth Room.
